Maybe you can figure out how Frank Borman was allowed to be "all that"
when Gus never wanted to fly with him to begin with, and Frankie used
his position on the Review Board to screw Gus in return for not
allowing him to fly on Molly Brown? Or are you so naive to think
Borman never bore a grudge? PLEASE. Borman thought he should get that
first manned Gemini flight. Do any of you NASA apologists know what
happened? Let me enlighten you. Gus said, and I QUOTE, "I am going to
select the very best crew for Gemini 3, and (AGAIN QUOTING), you AIN'T
IT."
Maybe you folks ought to figure out the REAL history of the space
program before you take one or two soundbites and decide you know it
all.
Source?
According to "Deke!" (and I can give you a page number if you want), Slayton
originally had Grissom and Borman flying the 14 day Gemini flight together (at
the time GT 6). When Shepard was grounded and Grissom was bumped up to GT 3
commander Slayton retained Borman because Deke wanted him on that 14 day
mission.
History is based on sources of information. Which you have not provided. WHERE
ARE YOU QUOTING FROM?
There are plenty of sources that reveal personal differences between astronauts
(McDivitt and Cernan for example...or more recently Bonnie Dunbar and Norm
Thagard). Why not what you aledge about Grissom and Borman?
