One notes that Leonov was kept under careful camera surveillance while outside
the Voskhod...such as all Soviets must be when they leave the confines of their
nation, be it the THE LARGEST NATION ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH, or a eight foot
diameter chrome-steel ball bearing.
One also notes that Alexei "conveniently" lost one of those cameras on
his way back in, which makes one wonder what kind of extra-terrestrial
zero-G hijinx would have been recorded by its "accidently" blinded eye.
So what happened during Gemini 10 when Collins conveniently lost his
camera and Young only filmed the black void with his DAC?
Questions, so many questions. It's almost as if the same people our
countries trusted with multi-million dollar flying machines couldn't be
trusted to operate a camera correctly. John Young later tripped over
the heat-flow cable on the moon, ruining THAT multi-million dollar piece
of equipment. One shudders to think of what might have happened if
Collins had had a bad day in lunar orbit left alone with the CSM, or
Leonov had been entrusted to bring Soyuz and Apollo together. I tell
ya, it's one close call after another...
