You can do a simple calculation from Stefans law to
get the time decay curve of this BB (doing this once in open lit got
me in trouble once so do it yourself)

I remember once looking through a 100 page DIA pub on Soviet
missiles that was classified SRD. It contained one sentence
estimating the x-ray deposition needed to damage 1/4 inch
aluminum plate -- and that was enough to get the entire
document into the RD control system.
