There are similarities between the "fine structure constant- alpha"
used in
standard analysis and alpha_sm.
Here is the comparison,
Standard Analysis
( fine structure constant)
alpha = e^2/[4pi(eps_o)(hbar)(c)] = .00727282447891158387...
or the other form is this inverse of this,
1/alpha = 137.4981563554991....
---------------------------------------------------------
Smart Model Analysis of alpha_sm
(fine structure constant - with respect to the Smart Model "Helix
Spiral
Fields" Theory, or the Spiral Fields related to the Divine
Proportion, Golden
Ratio, Fibonacci Spiral Squence, Phi and 1/Phi, etc...)
We find that alpha_sm = the number of degrees ( or proportions) per
leave
turn around a plant stem, found in nature, which provides the optimum
amount of
light exposure for a plant. This alpha_sm is a relation of the Divine
Proportion to a circle.
alpha_sm = 360 - 360*(1/Phi) = 137.5077640500378546463487...
The Standard Analysis and the Smart Model Theory form of "alpha",
"The Fine
Structure Constant", have almost the same value. This alpha_sm is
found as a
constant in nature used in the optimization of photon to particle (
or atom)
interaction for plants. For each leave, the turn is set by a
constant, 137
degree (or proportion) per leave turn.

Jim,
What do you think of the idea that the fine structure constant may be
changing with time, as speculated by Dirac?
Australian scientists have found a proportionality between the red
shifting of light from distant quasars (thus indicating great age) and
the fine structure constant computed from the spectra of that light.
Thus we might start calling this number alpha the "fine constant
variable".
My question is whether this might also indicate a change in the size of
the atom over time, and thus perhaps an expansion of matter?
