Default Direct methods for optimal control

Hi,
I will use a direct approch for solving a trajectory optimization
problem(optimal control). I find some approches for this , I have some
queations, If it is possible for please reply me;
1)Which orthogonal functions are better for parameteresie problem
2)chebyshev polynomials are used for many this aim, why?
