Digital photography and repeat of Goto issues?
Funny thing; Remember when (it's still going on, actually)
someone would buy a goto scope and you'd realize they
know nothing about the sky or much about amateur astronomy
from a conversation with them? This didn't much matter,
as long as they could read the manual and set up the scope,
the goto would work for them. But I've run into a few
people now who were getting into astrophotography but didn't
understand that they couldn't do longer exposure shots because
their Dobs were not driven. I had to explain to them about
how the Earth rotates and objects move across the scope field
and that this had to be compensated for. I'm wondering how,
if these people have done any observing, they didn't notice this?
To them, all photos are "snap" shots, being done instantly, like
most terrestrial shots.
