Bought the Edmonds reflector.
Hi again, I bought the Edmonds 4.25" f10 reflector I found in the pawn shop
today. Man is that mount heavy and yet smallish. The clock drive runs but I
am not sure if it is moving the scope or not. I have it set up and running
in my living room but it has not run enough to see yet. Or maybe it isn't
moving the tube, I don't know yet for sure. Oh yes indeed it is moving I
just checked a small mark I put on the big gear that was lined up with a
piece of the housing and it has moved about 1/8th inch since I started
typing. Hopefully all is well there. The scope came with one eyepiece. I
think it is about the same vintage as the scope. It has an anodized
purpleish barrel and two natural aluminum bands around it, one at the top
and one midway down the housing. The only markings are 1"FL so I would
assume that is about 22.5mm. Sure has a large chunk of glass on front for
this size lens. Also it seems to have two elements in it. The front one and
one about half way down the eyepiece tube and it is a 1.25 size lens. Anyway
I guess I will see how good everything is once the sky clears. So if you
live in western Washington state you have me to blame for the rain and
clouds today. :-)
