Your pet project is the DOD. You should care about public eduaction as
much as the Army does about training.

Matter of fact, I DO think that the government has a responsibility
to defend its' citizens. Educating the citizenry is also a function
of government, but it's a different branch. My *municipal* taxes
(property taxes...) go to pay for education subsidies, while my
federal taxes go to defense.

And what makes you think I'm out of shape, simply because I want to
take care of my own health-care needs? FYI I do construction work,
therefore I walk several miles a day... often carrying bundles of
steel pipe on my shoulders. I may not have the 'six-pack abs' that
seem to be the current rage, but I'm also not going to have a heart
attack after climbing a few flights of stairs.

And if the only argument you can provide is a personal attack (that
happens to be unfounded...) then please take some sage advice my
parents taught me. "If you can't say anything nice, then don't say
anything at all."
