The whole idea of caskets is NUTS. Just burn 'em. Reduce and Reuse. We

I'd actually rather have my body just left out in the desert someplace for
the coyotes, ravens and vultures.
I'd prefer medical science or art for mine. Burning seems a bit
wasteful, but the idea of taking up a hole in the ground for a century
of five strikes me as utterly absurd. Being eaten by wildlife seems a
bit of a waste too.
I like the idea of some more permanent memorial (physical or in the
collective memory) but I figure I'm going to have to do something
special to justify that (primarily to myself).

I'm an organ donor, so I hope parts of me will help to save or improve
lives after I'm dead.
So far as the rest goes, I'd prefer that my corpse goes to a medical
school, so people can learn to heal from me.
If not, burn me, and spread my ashes someplace nice. Plant some
flowers or a tree on top of me.
If someone comes up with a way to take corpse ashes and make them into
optical glass, then I'd be all about that! I'd love to become an
eyepiece! They can make a diamond out of body ashes, so perhaps this
isn't too fanciful.
