The good news is that through science and discovery, we learn how to halt the
path of disease, cure what ails, and then, when our work is done, each day, we
have fun. But work matters. Suffering is real, no illusion.

As we discover better cures, we measure better, and our numbers change to
revise toward a closer approximation of the facts, or truth as know it at any
given time.

Perhaps the speed of light also changes, as we modify our cognitive maps.
Accommodation of truth requires adjustment of the standard measure. And
accordingly, of our standards.
