Hi all

A friend is trying to make a cable for a SkySensor 2000PC and is
having trouble making it work. We've checked the wiring out and it
seems to be perfect. Having double, tripel checked it we've checked
it again to be sure, it looks perfect.

He's got the SkySensor in LX2000 Emulation mode. When the cable is
plugged in, it doesn't do anything.

Does anyone have any experience with these cables. Specifically for
the SkySensor 2000PC. I've already made a few for my Meade LX90,
which work fine.

I'm looking for some foolproof way of testing that

I suggest you to try to establish a connection with Hyperterminal, if you
have a PC under Windows.
Set the SS2K in Skysensor 2000 mode, 9600 bauds.
Set the COM port of the PC with 9600 bauds, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no
parity (be sure that the COM port in opened in the bios).
Open a Hyperterminal session and try to connect by typing 'SATEL 1'.
You should receive a response '[0/1:3] done: 'SATEL' (Satel #1)' or
something like that.
If you type anything, you should receive an 'Unknown command' response.
