Today in the news (
http://www.physorg.com/news286.html) was said that
"LSU Assistant Professor David Young and Professors Phil Adams and Roy
Goodrich have found a way to synthesize a layer of superconductor
directly onto tiny carbon fibers"
and further that "this results could lead to advances in space travel
and transport."
Then they give some explanation about how would this work in space
technology saying that military organizations are very much interested
in this development.
But to me, what they claim to be applications for this development are
still far far away from reality!
Is it so? Or I misunderstood something?
