Just curious, has anyone managed to see the asteroid Vesta since I know it's
approaching its closest point to the Earth in the next few days.....
I looked at Vesta this Saturday evening. Very, very easy to see,
even in binoculars. Another thing to look at (and I'd say this
one is even more interesing) is the asteroid Toutatis - I checked
it too - this one was around mag.12, but is fun to watch, because
it moves so fast. Even now, before the closest approach, 30 minutes
showed definite movement. I kept the scope on it for about one
hour, just to watch the show.
