Default Re-entry of Meteor

(Aseem Rastogi) writes:

Is it possible for a meteor to re-enter in Atmosphere..? Here is my
observation over the weekend with naked eyes...
There was a light streak of Meteor which vanishes and after a small
distance I see the second streak in line with the first one... I could
not explain it to myself..?

Most meteors are believed to be oblong, and tend to tumble as they enter
the atmosphere. When the meteor is broad-face on, it suffers more air
resistance, and therefore heats rapidly and gets brigther. When it is
narrow-end on, it suffers less air resistance, cools off slightly,
and gets dimmer.
