I think some of the replies that have been posted point out the *lack*
of a need for this group.

"I'd be interested in the car navigation aspect"
"been looking for ideas as to what I can get out of my Magellan
Sportrak pro marine"
"we use GPS for altitude verification, tracking etc"

What do any of these have in common, other than the underlying
technology?

To make any sense, we'd need a whole new hierarchy:
uk.rec.gps.walking, uk.rec.gps.sailing, etc etc.

P.S. I was browsing this thread on Google since that's my only option
when at work, and over half the replies suddenly disappeared - there
were 41, now there are 18!???!
