Do not despair David! I have the same problem, and have solved it
to complete satisfaction.
Constructed a remotely controlled coelostat which sits on an outside
flat roof, and enables me to observe in indoor, armchair warmth and comfort
from my viewing platform, accomodating a variety of
scopes including a 0.4 A H-alpa solar scope
