Default Just my observations

On 10 Nov 2003 16:04:46 -0800, (Simon
Gartfield) knew not what to say untill:

Am I the only one to notice that flaming is on the increase on this
NG?

On analysing the posts which I consider flaming, I must say that it
seems if people would actually think about what they are saying, the
world would be a happier place.

As someone has said in another post we don't have visual signs and
body language and may well mis-interpret a posts meaning, I am an
expert too I guess at this since I am only human, but will apologise
when in the wrong.

If you do not agree with a post just because it doesnt fit in with
your agenda, is it not better to just ignore it rather than take the
"Head Master" approach? "Let it drop type of patronising garb" Sorry
Chef!

I do not think it is helpful for anyone to make a post and then be
told rather arrogantly to drop the subject. What gives people the
right to take on the role or group moderator?

Certainly if I was a new astronomer and could read some of the recent
posts, I would be tempted to write off the hobby as being the domain
of Dictators, Megalomaniacs and downright nutters! Again maybe I am
just a nutter.

Come on guys let's pull together and give amateur astronomy a better
image than of late!

Just my thoughts!

Simon (donning his double asbestos "anti-flame" suit) are those petrol
fumes I smell?

I just keep quiet and watch it!
Much fun, also very strange sometimes...
