Jupiter fits across the Sun about 9 and half times - so your drawing
is pretty close to right.
We don't want to get too hysterical about this - there was a single
spot about this size in the first sunshine we had after the floods of
two years ago.
These groups are very big but not huge and they are quite active. I'm
surprised to see them as the Sun seemd to be on a quiet descent
towards minimum - but this is the first such descent since I started
astronomy.
I'm not hysterical Martin, it was a nice distraction to work off my
hangover this morning ;-)
