I am a carpenter and part-time Amateur Astronomer and from what I
heard it may be had to tell the difference between the old and new PT
lumber.

Since it is half-way through April, I am going to make a wild guess and say
that the sill plate is the new type of pressure-treated wood. If so, I hope
you paid attention to the fasteners you used.

Thanks. Since I'm not a frequent buyer of PT lumber I have no idea
whether it's the new type or the old type. I used 3" stainless steel
screws, which should be adequate.
