I had thought that myself, but in fact, it is a planet, spanning 180
degrees (more or less), making one circuit around the celestial sphere
in just one sidereal day (by definition). Therefore, not only is it a
planet, but it is the fastest moving one, and the only one on which we
can see inhabitants.
