Don't feel bad, I hosed my XP last night trying to partition the drive
for a dual boot Mepis Linux installation. Never partitioned a drive
before. Got Mepis installed but XP is no more. I may not re-install it,
Mepis is really working great! WE'll have to see as time goes by but it's
VERY nice not having to worry about the newest Mydoom or beagle viruses.

Did you do the same thing I did, Fred? I saw the post by Lawrence
Sayre a few days mentioning Mepis so I checked it out. Liked what I
saw so I got a copy and registered it. I've always wanted to try
Linux and Mepis a great distro. The fact that you can boot from the
CD to surf, get email and news without even installing it - not to
mention the repair/recovery ability if XP gets hosed, was just what I
was looking for. Thanks Lawrence!

Actually, I've been using Suse 8 for the past almost 2 years but wanted to
try some live distros. I got Knoppix 3.1 a few years ago and forgot I had
it so I fired that up on the old Dell last week and while surfing starting
reading about Mepis. Decided to buy a copy from Warren. I'm using it as I
type and REALLY like it! Slicker than greased owl poop!
