Hey, if the interpretation is correct, it's easy to work around.

It's a little tricker to recover the current data before reformatting,
that's the only hard thing.

But I'm highly dubious that this is the real problem.

(and it's not JUST that they didn't build in good error-handling, and
it's not JUST that they didn't torture-test it, but that they didn't
even test it in a realistic operational scenario).
