The Takahashi FS-152 fluorite doublet refractor is now being made with a
tube that is about 50mm shorter than the tube with which it was
previously
made. Anyone out there own one of these newer FS-152's? If so, can you
tell me whether you can reach focus with all your eyepieces without
using
an
extension tube?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Bill,
I think all the FS series is getting the 2" shorter tube. The FS102II is
available at Anacortes and has a sliding dew shield too.
This sounds like a prayer answered for imagers: usually the Takahashi
refractors have so little back focus it is hard to get a CCD camera/ filter
wheel and focuser to come to focus. The 2" shorter tube should be about all
that is needed to solve that problem. I wonder if they will do that to the
FSQ106 too?
