Recently bought my daughter a 4.5 " reflector for xmas and I'm having a

blast with it, it's been since I was in high school (30+
yrs) since I've played around with a telescope. Any suggestions on good

quality scope for deep sky objects with excellent easy to
use tracking and a real sturdy mount? In the area of $1500.-$2000. TIA...

Let's see if I have this straight:

First, it was a 4.5-inch Dob for "the kids."

Now, it's something in the area of "$1500 - $2000" for yourself.

Have you heard about Nagler eyepieces? I'll bet "the kids" would love a
half-dozen or so Naglers.

Then, of course, there are CCD cameras for that new scope of yours.

Of course, "the kid's" Dob and your new scope are not suitable for
traveling -- so -- you'll need a travel scope. And you can't haul those
Naglers around in the back of a minivan, so that's another set of eyepieces
for the travel scope.

Then, you'll go to a star party and look through a 20-inch Dob - - - and
it's downhill from there.

But don't worry -- it's not fatal.
