Default NexStar 8i - Where to connect the RS232C cable for PC-Control...

**** Post for FREE via your newsreader at post.usenet.com ****

Hello,

Couple of months ago I purchased a NexStar 8i telescope with a GPS
accessory. Now, I'm trying to use a PC Control software (hcAnywhere and
NexStar Observer List program from http://www.nexstarsite.com). I have
configured the RS232C Cable as described in the NexStar user guide and
on the nexstarsite website. I connect one end of the RS232C cable to
the computer. Where do I connect the other end of the cable on the
telescope? Do I connect it in the AstroGuide port, the GPS port? It
does not work when I connect to either of those ports that are on the
scope base. The hand controller that came with the scope does not have
a provision to connect a RJ11 connector as described in some of NexStar
documentation or some news group articles that I came across.

So, the question is, for NexStar 8i, where do I connect the other end of
the RS232C cable on the scope for PC-Control of the scope?

Thanks for your help.
