NOTE TO EDITORS AND NEWS DIRECTORS: News media representatives are invited
to participate in a space shuttle return-to-flight briefing in Bldg. N-201
at NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, Calif., on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
The briefing will be broadcast from NASA Johnson Space Center, Houston, on
NASA Television at 11:00 a.m. PST. To reach NASA Ames, take the Moffett
Field exit off U.S. 101 and proceed to the main gate. At the gate, turn
into a small parking lot on your right and enter the Visitor Badging Office
to obtain your visitor pass. To access NASA Ames, visitors must present
valid government-issued photo identification.

NASA TO HOLD SPACE SHUTTLE RETURN-TO-FLIGHT NEWS BRIEFING

NASA Space Shuttle Program officials will brief the news media about NASA's
plans to return to flight during a news briefing broadcast live from NASA
Johnson Space Center, Houston, on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 11:00 a.m. PST.

The briefing will be broadcast live on NASA Television with
question-and-answer capability for reporters at NASA Ames Research Center,
Moffett Field, Calif. The briefing will focus on return-to-flight space
shuttle processing, testing, training and response to recommendations made
by the Columbia Accident Investigation Board.

Briefing participants will include Bill Parsons, space shuttle program
manager; N. Wayne Hale, deputy space shuttle program manager; and Col. James
Halsell, NASA return-to-flight planning team lead.

NASA Television is available on AMC-9, transponder 9C, C-Band, located at 85
degrees west longitude. The frequency is 3880.0 MHz. Polarization is
vertical, and audio is monaural at 6.80
MHz.
