How does that differ from what Newton wrote that you quoted?

Except perhaps that it takes the 24 hour average as fundamental, as what
time really is, and the natural noon cycle as something secondary - because
it is a result of the particular orbit of the Earth around the Sun. It seems
that you think it should be the other way around.

I would try to explain to you why that makes no sense, but you are unwilling
to listen.
