The simple reason being that this era is dominated by celestial sphere ideologies and their proponents so it is a matter of deficiency of numbers rather than superiority.

The works within the Bible make an easy target however when the texts of your own ideologies are presented in a clear way it turns out nobody, at least those with reasonable intelligence, wants anything to do with them. Subtract daily rotation and the entire planet will turn once to the central Sun as a function of its orbital motion around the Sun where the North and South poles present a window into that surface rotation free of daily rotation.

This is the first time the cause of the variations are explained accurately and it takes a lot of nimble intelligence to apply the 24 hour system and Lat/Long system to the daily cycle and the geometry of the Earth. If people want the historical viewpoints that fell short then easy enough to ask but people are not going to do that.
