in favor of having their governments control and dictate not only most
actions but also all thought and speech with which they disagree.

Were the governmental machinery for such control to be put in place, then
we would all be at the mercy of whoever managed to gain control of that machinery.

you have at the moment is called advertising and you use it to select your
government.
