Cytoplasm of ET fat cells
The dark rinds marked with red lines in Fig. 1 (http://www.wretch.cc/
album/show.php?i=lin440315&b=28&f=1177259053&p=226) must be cytoplasm
of ET fat cells instead of membranes or artifacts. The dark rinds are
over one micron in thickness. Membranes of cells and organelles are
less than ten nanometers in thickness (seehttp://www.answers.com/topic/how-thick-is-the-plasma-membrane).
The dark rinds in Fig. 1 cannot be artifacts as they do not appear in
the smaller spheres in the same image. Those smaller spheres are small
lipid droplets that have seeped out of the bigger lipid droplets
contained by the fat cells.
By the way, the following micrographs clearly show lipid droplets
