Dear group,
Imagine an exoplanet which needs a mere 31 hours to orbit its host
star due to its great proximity and only 77 minutes to transit it as
observed from Earth. This is the situation with TrES-3b in Hercules
and which is suspected to have a decaying orbit due to incredible
tidal effects.
Thanks to a somewhat dim magnitude for the host star (12.40) and a
very quick transit (77.4 minutes), TrES-3b is a tough cookie to
capture nicely. Step into the scene the AP 305/f3.8 RHA (with
ST-10XME) and ..... http://www.perseus.gr/Astro-Photomet...3-20110520.htm
.
Only a handful of dates so far with the RHA but I am already planning
to repursue the 30 or so exoplanets hunted down so far since the
exoplanet results produced are exceptional and bear resemblance to
those produced by professional observatories with 1+ meter scopes.
Anthony.
Thank You, Anthony
