What's wrong about russians? They make worlds best optics. Even Zeiss
ordered
in Russia, and now TMB is importing those fine optics. They are even
somewhat better than american optics.
So if you are insulting the Russians, in fact you are insulting all
those TMB customers who choosed to buy those fine high quality Russian
optics.
Tom has done a great job in making these optics available in the US.
Without him, most US citizens never would have dared to buy a LZOS
telescope.
The high resale-price for this americanized product TMB is well worth
the trippled price compared to the older LZOS lenses.
The only risk of a steep price-fall would be the next generation
Syntha's with fluorite lenses. But i suppose we will have to wait at
least some 8 to 10 month before the 5" and 6" fluorites will be
available.
(One prototype of a mysterious blue telescope with fluorite element
has been around but had some problem with baffling and low-end
focusser)
So for the moment: the Russians are the best!
