Default Planets Jupiter and Selene

Planets Jupiter and Selene (the Moon)...

Were they not *stunning* last night as they slowly crossed
our sky together?

Did you see how CLOSE together they were?

For me this is the strongest piece of evidence in favor of
Selene (the Moon) as a full-fledged planet in its own right.

Does the Moon go around our planet on Earth's equator?
NO ! *Satellites, true satellites that were evidently made in
the same time frame and the same area as their primary
planets, THESE go around their planets riding the equator.
NOT the Moon !

Jupiter and the Moon (planet Selene) both ride very near
the ECLIPTIC, that is, the flat plane of the Earth's orbit
around the Sun.

Check just about any table of parameters of planets and
satellites, and you will find that when it comes to the
"inclination" of a satellite, it is always given in degrees
from the primary planet's EQUATORIAL plane. *And all
"inclinations" of the planets (including dwarf planet Pluto)
are always shown in degrees from the ECLIPTIC plane.

Since planet Selene (the Moon) is so much closer to the
ecliptic than it is to Earth's equatorial plane, astronomer's
always list the Moon's "inclination" in degrees from the
ECLIPTIC plane, just like all the *other* planets !

Another reason they do this is because of the Moon's big
variation of its distance from Earth's equator, from 18 to
23 degrees. *The Moon's distance from the ecliptic is only
about 5 degrees !

This is why planets Jupiter and Selene can be so close in
the sky. *And this is also one of the strongest reasons to
consider Selene to be a full-fledged planet in its own
right !

Painius When the moon covers the Sun so perfectly is shows its big ang
just the right size and distance away. Our moon is just right as to
how it relates to Earth Its the only moon to do this. Painius a 'Rose
is a Rose" Calling the Moon "Selene" or listing it as a rock planet
does not make any difference. TreBert
