natural diseases?

I'm not so sure the man-made versions would be worse. For instance
HIV is so devastating partially due to how...non-lethal...it is for
such a long time. Allowing someone to carry and spread it far and wide
without knowing. Some disease that is extremely deadly would limit the total
damage to far fewer.

I don;t think human made systems can rival natural ones until we learn
how to use evolutionary processes to create them. As any process capable
of creating intelligence must define the ideal.
