Can the Scopetronix eyepiece projection adapter be used with any telescope?

I plan to use the adapter with my Orion SkyView Pro 127 Maksutov-Cassegrain
and a Nikon SLR.

Alternatively, is the Scopetronix Digiadapt a better solution (since the
length can be adjusted)?
