Default Canon 15X45IS binoculars - opinions, durability etc

I am thinking of buying a pair of these secondhand. Would anybody care
to share their experience with these bins? In particular I am
concerned about the durability and fragility of the image
stabilisation mechanism & electronics, given that these bins have been
out for 2-3 years now. Has anyone had any problems? [SNIP]

Sydney,

We got a pair when they were discontinuing them in favor of the 15x50s and
18x50s. I think it was about three years ago. They have been fine and a
pleasure to use, but we had an accident with them a few weeks ago. They got
knocked off a kitchen counter onto a linoleum floor. This knocked them out
of collimation. However, I think you'd be pretty lucky if any binocular
survived without damage.

Clear skies, Alan
