I am thinking of buying a pair of these secondhand. Would anybody care
to share their experience with these bins? In particular I am
concerned about the durability and fragility of the image
stabilisation mechanism & electronics, given that these bins have been
out for 2-3 years now. Has anyone had any problems?
My intended use for these would be for long-distance outdoor use,
birdwatching and the like, with some casual astronomy use thrown in. I
already own 8x42 and 10x42 bins so these wouldn't be my primary
birding bins. Anyone use the 15x models for birding?
Other concerns I have with these include narrow FOV making it
difficult to acquire targets, eye relief when wearing glasses, and
inter-pupillary distance. I find that many modern bins don't have a
minimum IP distance sufficient for me to quite merge the 2 barrels.
Haven't yet had a chance to try the Canons out.
