Default Need eyepiece selection help! !

Gene,

Much as you, I also enjoy viewing deep sky objects. I get a particular kick
from viewing globular clusters and planetary nebula. Personally, I find
that the best power to view these objects is from 80x to 120x. With your
telescope, this translates to an eyepiece from 9mm to 15mm. Since money, as
you say, is no object, why not go with the best. Suggest that you go with a
TV Nagler T-2 9mm at the high end (produces 133x with your telescope) and a
15mm TV Panoptic or better yet a 16mm TV Nagler T-2 at the low power end
(both eyepieces will produce about 80x with your telescope).

Need eyepiece selection help! !

I need to buy a couple (2) eyepieces for a new scope I just ordered. It's

an 8"
1200FL Dob.

I'm interested in looking at planets but mostly interested in deep deep

deep
space stuff, Ok, as deep as an 8" can get.

I already have a 2X Tele Vue Big Barlow so I can double my power on each
eyepiece.

Price is no object but then again I don't want to throw money away if it

isn't
necessary.

So I guess I want one for Planets and one for deep space and both to work

well
with the Tele Vue Big Barlow. I'm old but don't wear glasses. (Not THAT

old)

Thanks much for your help.
