Hi Hallerb,

Thanks for the URL.

I find it hard to believe that Ham is married to an astronaut. It really
makes me think that many of NASA's astronauts had also bought into the
"Dead Men Orbiting" senerio. Broken heatshields don't require investigation
because nothing can be done. Don't look at the damage, don't do any
meaningful analysis, make sure no one takes "Just One Look", make sure no
one does any meaningful analysis, and tell the orbiting astronauts there is
a PR problem with the heatshield. They will know what your talking about.

Plausible deniability seems more important to NASA management than the
lives of seven astronauts.

My issue is this. If they had more time and known of the trouble their lives
could of been saved, and probably the orbiter too.

But so far theres no talk of a fast supplies to orbit, that would be useful for
a stranded shuttle and ISS as well.

A power module and air scrubbers and a bit of comfort supplies and this could
of all turned out very different.

It appears managemnent didnt want to know. Thats bad but whats worse is they
didnt want to know because they believed there was nothing that could be done..

WE NEED TO FIX THAT! By having a orbiter on the pad for emergencies and a quick
launch supplies support ability.
