I read that there was some lighning bolt that hit Columbia. Somebody
took a picture of this. Nasa was investigating the picture but nothing
came of it, to my knowledge. Has anyone else heard anything new about
this?

Here is a webpage showing Columbia's final pass over northern California
and Nevada as seen by several observers. None of these photos are the
"lightning" re-entry picture.

Should be noted to that if it DID occur (which appears to be highly
unlikely) it was a sprite or other high altitude phenomenon. Something very
different from "normal" lightning.
